In her own words
I am 38 years old and live on the east coast. I am married with three kids (girl- 9, boy- 5, and girl- 3). My husband and I have been expats, so we’ve also had the challenge of parenting with a language barrier. I’ve been both a stay at home parent and a working parent but I think I have really thrived as a working mom, even though there are days where I feel like I am juggling flame throwers. My kids get the best of me when I can also show them my career path.
The most impactful part of your journey:
The reality of taking care of a child with invisible but very serious health issues. It can be so lonely because people don’t understand how much mental labor it takes to safely socialize him. Birthday parties and family events just aren’t breezy. I often come home so exhausted from white-knuckling the “fun.”
